Despite this, we currently have a president with Marixist views, and a Congress run by the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. These people aren't even moderates, they're full-blown leftists!!
The reason they are in power is two-fold. We as Americans needed to do more. We needed to get out there and promote conservative values, and most importantly, we needed to vote. In many cases, that didn't happen in 2008, and we are now paying dearly for it. The good news is that in many ways we as conservatives are finally getting our act together. Through tea parties, town hall meetings, etc. we are making our voice heard.
What we now have to do is translate these ideals and values into election results. To do that, we need candidates who run their campaigns on conservative values. The Gallup poll numbers back up this premise! If the Republican party wants to regain power, it needs to realize this: A conservative GOP is what will be successful. We don't need a "hip-hop" party, as Michael Steele put it, and we surely don't need a moderate GOP.
For those who say the Republican Party should be more moderate, WHERE WERE YOU IN THE LAST ELECTION?? John McCain was the personification of the "moderate" candidate, and he got his butt kicked. Yet somehow we get these idiotic news stories about how Republicans need to appeal to the moderates and the fence sitters. That was what we did in the last election, and it didn't work!
The Republican Party leadership needs to wake up, and get in line with the American people on this. We don't want moderates, liberals, or marxists, we want conservatives!! Then, and only then, will the Republican party be doing things right.
