The Real America.

"America is not a Christian nation".
You hear that phrase often, be it from your rabid unneighborly ACLU lawyer, or sadly, from the current president of the United States. They'll tell you that America wasn't founded on Christianity, and that the Founding Fathers were all either deists or outright atheists. This view is touted in public schools and universities across the country.
Even some Christians, growing up in this environment, have to come to believe it. Others may not believe the founders were secular, but they certainly don't feel like they have enough evidence to refute the statement either. So, they remain silent, and the statement continues to ring out, unchallenged.
What I want to talk about today, is this: Is what they say really true? Is America indeed a godless Republic?
To answer this, I won't quote modern philosophers or verbose politicians. I'm going to go back to the beginning, when the harbinger of freedom first dawned on the shores of America. When such people as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson lived and gave their lives and their livelihoods to see America rise. What do they say have to say about America?


First of all, let's look at a sage and very well known document, namely, the Declaration of Independence. This document was written by the supposed deist, Thomas Jefferson. Well then, why did the Deist find it necessary to mention God 4 times in the relatively short document? He makes reference to a "Creator" in the famous line about human rights, and even before that, Jefferson mentions "Nature's God". In the latter statement, he elevates God above nature, or natural law! Even more damaging to the 'deist' cause, Jefferson appeals to the "Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions...". Now clearly, if Jefferson was in fact a deist, why would he be appealing to a God that he clearly calls a "Supreme Judge". Those aren't the words of deist or atheist by any stretch of the imagination. If that wasn't enough, later in the document, Jefferson makes this statement, "with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.
Divine Providence is defined as the "Activity of God in world affairs". If Jefferson was a deist, why would he use such language? The truth of the matter is that Jefferson mentions God pretty often! I was at the Jefferson Memorial a couple of weeks ago, and even there, most of his quotes mentioned God, in one form or another.
Now some might say, "How do you know he was talking about a Christian god"?
Who do you think he was talking about? Buddha??? Allah??? Thor??? I think not. The God almost universally believed in at that time in America was the Judeo-Christian God. To try to claim otherwise is downright silly, to say the least.
      Now, what about the rest of the Founding Fathers? According to Adherents.com, ALL of the Founding Fathers professed to belong to one Christian church or another. The majority, 57.1%, belonged to the Anglican church, while 23.2% and 21.4% considered themselves Congregationalist and Presbyterian, respectively. Now, what about Ben Franklin? Many revisionist historians like to tout him as the man of reason,  and as a deist.
The truth is far from that image. During the Constitutional convention, the delegates had reached a stalemate. There were deep and profound disagreements between the 2 sides, and it looked as if it would be impossible for them to reach agreement.
A man stood up, and requested that before the business proceedings of each day commenced, that it be opened in prayer to God. Not only that, he requested that a chaplain be appointed for the duration of the convention! The man who requested this was none other than Ben Franklin. The question begs asking, why would a deist recommend that the convention open its day praying to God to "enlighten our minds"?


Another argument revisionist historians and anti-God people use is to claim that there is no mentioned of God in the Constitution.
While it is true that God's name is rarely mentioned in the Constitution, the reasons behind that are far different from what leftists would have you believe.
The Founders believed that religion was a matter best left up to the individual, and to the states. Most state constitutions defined the role religion played in civil affairs, and as such, the Founders did not want the federal government to usurp that power. As Daniel Dreisbach puts it, "The Constitution, in short, can be fairly characterized as "godless" or secular only insofar as it deferred to the states on all matters regarding religion and devotion to God. 
Imagine that. The lack of God in the Constitution, far from being the result of the anti-religious bias of the Founding Fathers, was simply an example of the Constitution's support of states rights. Take that, ACLU! 


The truth is undeniable. The feverish attempt by radical leftists to revise and secularize our history cannot keep the truth from ringing out. They've tried to deny the devout religious beliefs of the founders. They've tried to explain away the Constitution and America's profound success as being simply the result of reason. To some extent, they've succeeded. They've offloaded their rhetoric and frenzied arguments to our children, via the public school system and the leftist media. 
They've done all that, and yet, they've failed. The truth cannot be hidden anymore.
Now you know. They are the ones who are wrong.

The Unknown Citizen

You may or may not have heard this poem before, but I thought it was most fitting for the time we're now in. Leftists want to 'spread the wealth around', and make everyone the same. If that would ever happen here, the effects would be disastrous. American ingenuity would be gone, stifled under the rising tide of mediocrity that socialism inevitably brings. Let this serve as a warning to you:


He was found by the Bureau of Statistics to be One against whom there was no official complaint, And all the reports on his conduct agree That, in the modern sense of an old-fashioned word, he was a    saint, For in everything he did he served the Greater Community. Except for the War till the day he retired He worked in a factory and never got fired, But satisfied his employers, Fudge Motors Inc. Yet he wasn't a scab or odd in his views, For his Union reports that he paid his dues, (Our report on his Union shows it was sound) And our Social Psychology workers found That he was popular with his mates and liked a drink. The Press are convinced that he bought a paper every day And that his reactions to advertisements were normal in every way. Policies taken out in his name prove that he was fully insured, And his Health-card shows he was once in hospital but left it cured. Both Producers Research and High-Grade Living declare He was fully sensible to the advantages of the Instalment Plan And had everything necessary to the Modern Man, A phonograph, a radio, a car and a frigidaire. Our researchers into Public Opinion are content  That he held the proper opinions for the time of year; When there was peace, he was for peace:  when there was war, he went. He was married and added five children to the population, Which our Eugenist says was the right number for a parent of his    generation. And our teachers report that he never interfered with their    education. Was he free? Was he happy? The question is absurd: Had anything been wrong, we should certainly have heard.

Do We Have a Moral Obligation to Bankrupt America?

We can debate Obamacare until we're blue in the face, but in reality, the truth is fairly obvious.
We are currently facing the bankruptcy of Medicare and Social Security, 2 government programs that as is usual with government programs, became impossible to adequately fund. So what is the solution put forward by the liberals in Congress? Let's make a LARGER government program to fix the previous two. This is their solution to everything! More money, more taxes, and inevitably, more government control. Forget about reforming the last 2 programs, let's just throw them away and make an even bigger one! The timing of the bill is pretty idiotic as well. Our economy isn't exactly booming right now, and we are continuing to field massive deficits every year. However, that doesn't seem to stop the liberals from trying to pass a bill that will add trillions of dollars of added debt onto our already struggling economy, not to mention putting many in the medical field out of work.

Of course, liberals try to defend this by citing how we have a "moral obligation" to pay for other people's health insurance. Do we also have a moral obligation to destroy the America we know and love?? That, is what all this will lead to. If this bill passes, we will have lost a huge chunk of our freedom and individual liberty, and no amount of "free healthcare" will be able to make up for it.

In an epic stroke of brilliance, yesterday the infallible Jimmy Carter accused Rep. Joe Wilson of racism. He arrived at this earth-shattering conclusion despite the fact that Joe Wilson essentially only said two words, "You lie" to President Obama.
What are we to assume from Carter's words? That calling Obama a liar equals racism against black people? Is he saying black people are all liars? That is in essence what he is implying. If calling a black man a liar is racist, it obviously implies that lying is associated with his ethnic background.
I'm sure Carter didn't think about that before he made his outrageous claims, which is a problem with most politicians these days.
They don't think about what they say, and worse, many, including our President often don't do what they said they would.
In other words, they lied.

WHO AM I?


* I was born in one country, raised in another. My father was born
in another country. I was not his only child. He fathered several children
with numerous women.


* I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest
in me. My mother died at an early age from cancer.


* Later in life, questions arose over my real name.


* My birth records were sketchy and no one was able to produce a
legitimate, reliable birth certificate.


* I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity, as
it was widely accepted in my country, but I practiced non-traditional
beliefs and didn't follow Christianity, except in the public eye under
scrutiny.


* I work ed and lived among lower-class people as a young adult,
disguising myself as someone who really cared about them.


* That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my
life and I embarked on a new career.


* I wrote a book about my struggles growing up. It was clear to
those who read my memoirs that I had difficulties accepting that my father
abandoned me as a child.


* I became active in local politics in my 30's then with help
behind the scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate for
national office in my 40s. They said I had a golden tongue and could talk
anyone into anything. That reinforced my conceit.


* I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history, and
no experience in leading a single organization. Yet I was a powerful
speaker and citizens were drawn to me as though I were a magnet and they
were small roofing tacks.


* I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances. This
bolstered my ego.


* At first, my political campaign focused on my country's foreign
policy. I was very critical of my country in the last war and seized every
opportunity to bash my country.


* But what launched my rise to na tional prominence were my views on
the country's economy. I pretended to have a really good plan on how we
could do better and every poor person would be fed and housed for free.


* I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess.
It was the free market, banks and corporations. I decided to start making
citizens hate them and if they were envious of others who did well, the plan
was clinched tight.


* I called mine "A People's Campaign" and that sounded good to all
people.


* I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the
traditional path of politics and was able to gain widespread popular
support.


* I knew that, if I merely offered the people 'hope', together we
could change our country and the world.


* So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were on behalf
of the downtrodden, poor, ignorant to include "persecuted minorities" like
the Jews. My true views were not widely known and I needed to keep them
unknown, until after I became my nation's leader.


* I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily
found out what I really believed, if they had simply read my writings and
examined those people I associated with.


* I'm glad they didn't. Then I became the most powerful man in the
world. And the world learned the truth.

America is the greatest nation on the planet. The freedom that exists here is unparelled to the rest of the world. In other countries, people wake up in the morning concerned for their lives. They live in fear, afraid that some terrorist may kill them, or that they may not be able to find anything to eats. Many Americans on the other hand wake up in the morning with their biggest concern being whether they should order Cafe un Lait or a Cappuccino at Starbucks on their way to work. Sure, we may face challenges and tough situations, but how often do Americans face starvation or bands of genocidal terrorists? Even the poor among us aren't in any danger of starving, and I've noticed that some Americans living in what I would consider abject poverty have tv satillites. That may be part of the reason why they live in poverty...but nevertheless, they'd be considered rich by some countries' standards.

So why is this the case? Why is America so much better off than most of the world? The answer lies in our founding as a nation. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and others, envisioned an America where everyone would be able to use their God-given ability and creativity without being constantly interfered with by government. A place where people could be creative and improve themselves without being concerned that it would be taken from them by thieves, in government or otherwise. The government's role in fact was to ensure that this wouldn't take place! American government was supposed to protect our freedom, not infringe upon it! We've come a long ways from that place of liberty, unfortunately.

Over the years, as our nation has grown more prosperous and successful, government has slowly increased its role in our lives. Even worse, a growing segment of the population has come to believe that government, and not the individual, should be responsible for the welfare of the individual. We see this in the demands for universal healthcare, welfare, and housing projects. These are all ways in which people, refusing to take responsibility for their own lives and their own problems, resign them to government. Sadly, they then become little more than slaves to government. They are provided for, but they live lives of terrible mediocrity and misery, and without purpose.

Al Kaltman once said that, "Without meaningful work, life stinks". When people live their lives as simple wards of the government, they have no vision to succeed, no vision to prosper, and no vision to improve themselves. The Bible states even more powerfully that , "Without vision, a people perish". I know of a young boy raised in the slums who my parents tried to help. They asked the little boy about what he wanted to do in life, and do you know what he said? He didn't say he wanted to be a firefighter, or an astronaut, or an athlete. Instead, his whole vision in life was to fake injuries and problems so he could get more money from welfare!
That is the future of the liberal ideas that we see around us. That is the future in surrendering our responsibility, and our lives to the control of government. Things like this don't happen instantly. It takes time, and slowly, our liberties and our freedoms erode away until in the end, we have lost all that we are.
Its a dead-end road my friends, and I pray God that America does not stay on this path.

So don't shirk your responsibility! Don't surrender the God-given ability you have to create wealth and improve your life to the whims of bureaucrats in Washington D. C. They can't do a better job than you at running your life, I guarantee it!

Independence Day...lest we forget.

On July 4, 1776, 56 men placed their signature on the Declaration of Independence, knowing that in doing so their lives would be in jeopardy. They could no longer live the way they used to, for they were now considered traitors to the king of England. John Hancock, in a heroic gesture, signed his name first, in such a way that there could be no mistake who's signature it was.
The boldness and the bravery of both its signers and its authors is one of the greatest examples of patriotism ever. It laid the foundation for the American civilization as we know it.
Now 233 years later, this document has not lost its value.


IN CONGRESS, July 4, 1776

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences
For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:
For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.
He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.
He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our Brittish brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.

We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.


Still here? Great! It is interesting to note how similar their situation is to ours. They faced tyranny from an oppressive despotic regime, and now we, 233 years later, are dealing with a similar threat. Will we rise to the occasion, and take back our country, or will we remain in our bonds of oppression, lulled into inaction by the forces of evil?

The choice is yours.

Iran's Election Surprise-NOT!

For those people who claim that Iran is a democracy...think again.
Now you might say, "But they have elections". While that's true, the power of the presidential office in Iran is really quite limited. The real leader of Iran is not the president, but the Supreme Leader who hold supreme(tough guess huh?) and unlimited authority. Guess who the Supreme Leader supported in this election? Ahmadinejad. Guess who won by a large margin? Ahmadinejad.

In fact, the Supreme Leader actually decides who can run for the office of president in the first place. The president is actually little more than a mouthpiece who regurgitates what is given to to him by the Supreme Leader. Kinda like the main-stream media with Obama.

The good news is that there is a large number of Iranians who are tired of the extremist views of their radical leaders and who yearn for a freedom like that being experienced in Iraq and in a lesser sense Afghanistan. Whether they'll be able to overthrow the oppression anytime soon remains to be seen.

One thing is for sure though, Iran is not a democracy. It is instead a totalitarian regime controlled by a group of Islamic extremists determined to at whatever cost complete their goal-the destruction of Israel, and in a greater sense, the Western world as we know it.
